Rideau Logistics is a trade name of Marlin Technology Inc. ("Rideau," "we," "us"), a freight brokerage based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us at dispatch@rideaulogistics.com or (613) 413-8917. We are the party responsible for the personal information described here.
We only collect what we need to quote and move freight and to respond to you. That includes:
Information you give us through our forms, email, or phone: your name, company, email address, phone number, and the details of your shipment or fleet (origin, destination, equipment, weight, timing, and similar). Carriers may also provide operating authority, insurance, and payment details.
Information collected automatically when you visit the site: basic technical data such as your browser type and pages viewed. Our network provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs to deliver and secure the site. We do not currently use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. We use your information to prepare quotes, arrange and manage shipments, vet and pay carriers, respond to your questions, keep records required for our business, and comply with legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use it for anything you would not expect from a freight broker you contacted.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it for other companies' marketing.
We share information only as needed to do the job, with:
Carriers and service providers involved in your shipment; your customs broker where a cross-border move requires it; and trusted vendors who run our tools on our behalf, such as our email provider (Google Workspace) and our web form provider ([form provider, e.g. Formspree]). These providers may store data on servers in Canada, the United States, or elsewhere, and are bound to protect it. We may also disclose information where required by law.
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and we limit access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal, tax, and regulatory record-keeping requirements, then we securely dispose of it.
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at dispatch@rideaulogistics.com. We will respond within a reasonable time.
We may update this policy as our business grows or the law changes. We will post the updated version here with a new date.
